tired. but still going strong.
my wonderful main comm mate sent this to us. and i seriously think its very encouraging.
[Matthew 4:14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Regardless of your religion, we are the light of the world. You are a light to somebody, at least someone. That someone can be your partner, your peers, your family or even a stranger. Don't hide your light. Let it shine and be proud of that light of yours. Making the world a better place for everyone. In CCI, our roles as Trainers and Facilitators give us great opportunities to shine our light on others path. Simply put it, touching their lives. And the result of you shining your light is relatively instantaneous, i.e. kids smiling at you, asking for you to return, sharing their problem with you...etc... Shine my friends... Shine... We are born with a purpose in life. Surely, purpose is not to graduate at 25, start working, start a family at 30, retire at 55 and wait to die... There is more than meet the eyes in life my friends. Some of you must be thinking, how to shine isn't it?
Some examples and you'll get it...- Being there for your friends when you know they are down- Showing how much you love your parents- Helping strangers with their heavy books- Doing charity work- Showing appreciation towards your friend- Letting your friends know you are proud of themThe list goes on... I'm sure you get what I'm referring to when I encourage you to shine your light... Let your light shine my friends... Making the world a greater place...Spread the Peace, Joy and Love... Inspiring greatness, one at a time...] Im sure this is relevant to our daily lives, our way of life and our dealings in life. At the same time im aware that it isnt easy and definitely not the "press-button-and-can-start" kind, especially when we are all students coping with the many things in life besides studying.
BUT. We are all trying it together! No worries, you're not alone! (im a liverpool fan: you will never walk alone) Im glad i met all of you in the committee(ok, i forgot the names but soon ok?) because by being here we are taking the first step of shining. And we will shine our energy and light to the freshies next year! Its not the attention, never the credits, definitely NOT to know girls/guys BUT the satisfaction when you know people will always remember CAC FOC 2010 as a fantastic orientation camp! When we done that, we are spreading the lights within to others. So hang in there people! Do not lose yourself and your goals as we get bombarded by hordes of workload, preparation, disagreements and many other stuff! JIAYOU JIAYOU!!! We shall shine and etch this FOC into the hearts of the freshies next year!
WARMEST REGARDS(its quite cold in hall now),
YONG SIANG!!!WOOHOO!!
i know the workload wont be light,
and im fully aware of the resposibility of starting a camp from the scratch.
i know i will be really really busy dealing with sch works, projs, PA and this FOC.
i have to go through all the " make new frens" phase all over again.
i might be really bad at organising my schedule. i might be forgetful and blur. i might be not motivated to study sometimes, but im sure at the end of the day, i will improve, as a whole. at least i m courageous enough to take this first step and try. ( even though most courages are given to me by my frens. and for this, im seriously blessed to have these people behind me.)
thats why i say, studies really isnt everything. it only tells u the standard of ur cert. U CAN GET FIRST CLASS HONOUR, BUT U SUCKS AS A PERSON. den i pity u.
