Went to Jurong Bird Park and do some CIP. In total, managed to clock 24 hours of CIP. Hmm, think i am almost done with the CIP part in the NYAA already. But hey! i'm so not going to stop there. How i wish i have 48 hours per day(who doesnt!)
The people in hawk centre are really cool. They were the one who train the eagles and owls. Great job guys! haha. The man that took charge of the 3 of us was Shash. He's a very nice guy. VERY. He made funny jokes, though we couldnt quite catch what he was saying. Sometimes i think he's quite a poor thing. Everyone in the hawk center seems to be bullying him. Shash would always be the guy that do all the cleaning up. Poor shash. HE IS A GOOD MAN. haha, He even let us into those areas that were strictly out of bound to the public. AND I GET TO SEE THE SNOWNY OWL FACE TO FACE(through the back door) That owl looked awfully like Hedwig! LOVE HEDWIG. haha.
Erm, before you start saying, "wah, so good. i also wan to do cip there", think again. YOU WILL HAVE TO CLEAN BIRD SHIT. and my god, they are smelly! VERY. and oh ya, if you are scare of mice, too bad! We had to use our hand and take the dead+frozen mice out of the super cold freezer and put them into the pails. OMG!
Basically, here's what we did on the first day.
-clean the bird cages
-sort out the dead mice(some are very bloody)
-help to clean their drinking tubs
-scrub the handle of each bird cage
-clean the office
WAS DAMN TIRED AT THE END OF THE DAY.
That was just the first day in hawk center. But the second day was better.
-Clean the kitchen (the kitchen is where all the mice are killed, fricking smelly)
-Clean the office
-Sweep dried leaves
-Take photo with everyone
-scrub the fence of the hawk center
-clean the windows of the display
Oh ya, while flushing the gates with water, i didnt see the BOSS coming in and he got wet. OOPS! i forgot what he said to me. Something like, "oi.." Anyway, he went into the kitchen and came back with a cup of water. AND HE THREW THE WATER AT ME. i was so damn shock la! The stern looking boss was actually spraying water at me. LOL.
Basically, in short, its free labour work.
But overall, these 2 days were great.
Actually, we spent 3 days in the bird park. The very first day was BORING. Jeri and i were in charge of the operation, which simply means USHERING! We had to spend 8 hours asking people to come out from the monorail(smth like LRT) to your side and show them where is the staircase. ALAMAK! as if they are so blind that they cannot see that the staircase is just right in front of them. that was a pure waste of time. At least the other 2 days were much better. took photo with 2 owls. COOL man! and its FOC. In total the 3 of us saved about $100. LOL.
loved the hawk center crew. oh ya oh ya, i forgot to mention the 2 dogs. THEY KEPT BARKING AT US. In order to get to the hawk center, we had to walk past the 2 dogs. they just refused to let us in. Our jobs were delayed because of them. We had to stand there and wait for people to come and save us! There was this time where weifen and i managed to walk past the 2 dogs and jerilyn was still stuck outside. We had to save her. So, we tried to calm the dogs down. We tried all ways to get him to sit down. But hmm, he just refused to listen to us la. Anyway, we were too focus in "talking" to the dogs that we didnt know there's a crowd of hawk center people looking at us. When weifen and i turned around, we were like, " huh? How come suddenly got so many people" And they were like staring at us, as if we belong to the other species of human life.
Can you imagine? They should have helped us!! But they didnt. haha, i think they were too busy "enjoying" the "show" LOL.
ok cya. shall upload the photos next time round.
